MENTAL HEALTH WEEK: Fitness Foundation Hosts Fitness and Mental Health Awareness Session

In a heartfelt initiative to promote mental health and well-being, FitMyke Fitness Foundation, in collaboration with Evolve 360 Gym in Abuja, organized a Fitness and Mental Health Awareness session to commemorate Mental Health Week. This event is part of the Foundation’s ongoing efforts to raise awareness about the critical connection between physical fitness and mental well-being. The event drew an enthusiastic crowd of gym members and community residents, all eager to learn more about the vital relationship between physical activity and mental health. The session featured a variety of activities designed to engage participants both physically and mentally.
Attendees enjoyed an invigorating workout led by expert trainers, followed by insightful talks from mental health professionals. These experts provided valuable information on managing stress, the importance of a balanced lifestyle, and techniques to improve mental health through physical activity. In her second segment, Aisha encouraged attendees to prioritize their mental health alongside their physical health. Earlier, the organizer of the event and founder of FitMyke Fitness Foundation, Michael Oghenemahro Uwejeyan, emphasized the importance of such initiatives in raising awareness and breaking the stigma associated with mental health issues. “Our goal was to create an event that not only promotes physical fitness but also highlights the vital link between staying active and maintaining good mental health,” he stated.
