NSCDC CG Special Squad Arrests 9 Robbery Gang, Kidnapping Syndicate in Nasarawa

Sequel to the reoccurring and incessant burglaries, stealing, car snatching, criminal intimidation, threat to life amongst others in Lafia metropolis and other neighboring states, the Commandant General Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Ahmed Abubakar Audi gave his Special Intelligence Squad a matching order to collaborate with the Nasarawa State Command of the NSCDC to bring to halt these crimes and to bring to book anybody, groups or individual found culpable.
Parading the suspects at the Command’s Headquarters of the NSCDC, Nasarawa State, The State Commandant, Ismaila Abdullahi said the suspects have been terrorizing residents of Lafia metropolis and its environs for a long time before they met their waterloo, they were trailed and arrested in different locations and time between 14th to 16th January, 2024 following a tip-off.
The Suspects, Abdulganiyu AbdulMuminon, 28 years and of the gang is an ex-convict, who regained freedom from correctional facility in March 2023, but resume this heinous and nefarious act in October same year.
In his confessional statement, the last robbery operation he participated was on 10th January, 2024 where he robbed two houses around the Transformer Street, College of Agriculture Lafia, in company of three 3 vigilantes members Godfrey Alaba, Aminu Kassim & Israel Umaru and one Bilyaminu Ibrahim Bako and Abdulrazak Idris, they sell the loots to one Jibrin Mohammed Doga and Emmanuel Obilikwu at the popular Kongo Plaza in Lafia, Nasarawa State.
*BILYAMINU Bilyaminu Ibrahim Bao aged 25 from Kanuri, in his confessional statements, some times in 2022, he alongside Abdulganiyu Abdulmumuni, Abdulrazak Idris, all in Custody , and one Saleh Aliyu Mohammed, still at large, that around Nasarawa State Polytechnic Lafia, Transformer Street, Ombi one, on the 10th December, 2023, around Royal Boundary, on the 14th December, 2023 and around Hilcon Hotel Street on 10th January, 2024, they robbed many houses and stole many valuables, including phones, laptops etc. Before luck ran out of them, and they were arrested by the CG’s SIS.
Abdulrazak Idris ‘M’, ’25’ recruited by Abdulganiyu Abdulrazak and Bilyaminu Ibrahim Bako, He confessed to having participated in several robbery acts with them, alongside one gang member (Sale Aliyu Mohammed) still at large.
Aminu Kasim ‘M’, ’40’ was responsible for recruiting and bringing Godfrey Alaba and Israel Umaru to join the gang.
He participated in the robbery of 12th January, 2024 alongside Abdulganiyu Abdulmumuni, Godfrey Alaba, Israel Umaru and one other Sale Aliyu Mohammed, at large , and that the joined the gang to operate at the College of Agric Transformer Street, Lafia, Nasarawa State and that him, Bilyaminu Ibrahim Bako and Abdulrazak Idris also robbed man houses located around Nas Poly Transformer Street, Lafia, Nasarawa State.the following exhibits were recovered from Aminu Kassim, Namely:

1. One {1} locally fabricated pistol {this very weapon was revealed during investigation to have been fired during one of their robbery activities recently.
2. Five {5} pieces cartridges
3. One {1} personal button phone.
*GODFREY ALABA {A Vigilante Member}*
‘M’,’30’ he is responsible for the identification of victim’s of their heinous act, among the victim he identified include the residence of one Adzigi, and that he opened the gate for the his cohorts to be able to gain entrance into the compound before the robed the house, but he stood outside the house, because he believed he might be identified.

‘M’, ’20’ he was recruited by Abdulrazak Idris to join the robbery gang and he confessed to have participated in robbery attacks along with Abdulganiyu ABDULMUMUNI, Aminu Kassim, Godfrey Alaba and one other [Sale Aliyu Mohammed] at large.
*IBRAHIM ALIYU {a.k.a Shampee} {Buyer of stolen properties]*
‘M’ ’20yrs’ he has been a buyer of stolen phones, he received three {3} stolen phones from Abdulrasak Idris and he confessed this in his statement.
*JIBRIN MOHAMMED DOGARA [Buyer of stolen properties]*
‘M’, ’35yrs’, he is a buyer of stolen properties, Abdulganiyu Abdulmumuni confessed selling stolen phones to him regularly, he confessed receiving one {1} stolen phone, meanwhile,the following exhibits were recovered from him [Jibrin Mohammed Dogara],Namely:
1. Four {4} smartphones out of five stolen phones alleged to have been sold to him by Abdulganiyu ABDULMUMUNI.
2. One {1} power bank
3. Three {3} separate smartphones
4. Two {2} TECNO button phones
5. One {1} flip phone

*EMMANUEL OBILIKWU (a.k.a TOTO BRUSHER) (Receiver of stolen properties]*
‘M’, ’30yrs’, Idoma, Ogbadibo LGA of Benue state. He is a regular purchaser of stolen phones from Bilyaminu Ibrahim Bako,
He confessed to purchased six {6} stolen phones from one of the suspects in custody [Bilyaminu Ibrahim Bako].the following exhibits were recovered from Emmanuel Obilikwu, Namely:
1. Five {5} smartphones {being proceeds of the robbery activities of the notorious gang.
2. Laptop {he claimed to have bought it but no receipt}
3. One button phone
4. Thirteen {13} other smartphones for repairs.
5. Seven {7} button phones for repair.
The suspects are helping the Command in its Investigation, after which they will be charged to court of competent jurisdiction for prosecution.
The State Commandant, Ismaila Abdullahi call on the good people of Nasarawa State to be law abiding and report any suspicious movement within and around their vicinity to any security agencies closest to them.
