800 Special Operations Forces Troops Graduated to Boost Nigeria’s Security

The Ministry of Defence in Nigeria recently announced the graduation of 800 elite Special Operations Forces (SOF) troops, marking a significant milestone in the country’s efforts to combat insecurity. These troops underwent rigorous training to equip them with advanced skills in special combat tactics, counterterrorism operations, intelligence gathering, and hostage rescue missions.
Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, emphasized the importance of these elite forces in Nigeria’s collective war against terror, banditry, kidnapping, and insurgency.
The SOF troops are set to be deployed in high-risk areas, including Zamfara, Kaduna, and the North-East, to reinforce Nigeria’s national security architecture.
The training program aimed to develop highly skilled personnel capable of conducting specialized operations with precision, speed, and efficiency.
The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to modernizing the Armed Forces, incorporating specialized training, state-of-the-art equipment, and integrated intelligence systems.
Speaking, Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, Minister of State for Defence, who emphasized the critical role of SOF in national security.
Ambassador Gabriel Aduda, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence, commended the dedication and resilience of trainees and instructors.
General Christopher Gwabin Musa, Chief of Defence Staff, urged graduates to uphold the highest standards of discipline and ethics.
