18th Copenhagen International Anti-Corruption Conference ends today
The 18th International Anti- Corruption Conference which started on October 22 in Copenhagen, Denmark ends today.
Interestingly a Nigerian Gift Olivia Samuel was among ten African young journalists selected to participate in the conference with Transparency International. Other countries of which representatives were selected included, South Africa, Rwanda, Tunisia, Cote d”Ivoire, Ghana, DRC, Mozambique, Morocco and Ethiopia.
“We write to you with the good news that you have been shortlisted to be part of this special sub-group of the young journalist team and we welcome you to join us at the 18th IACC from 22-24 October.” A letter inviting her stated.
The young journalists arrived earlier to participate in the pre-IACC media training workshop in Copenhagen which took place on the 21st of October 2018.
With the support of the National Chapter, they were asked to publish at least one media feature on one of the themes of the AU-2018 project, ahead of the pre-IACC training workshop in Copenhagen and at least one other feature by the end of November 2018.
The International Anti-Corruption Conference (IACC) which was established in 1983 takes place usually every two years in a different region of the world, and hosts from 800 to 2000 participants from over 135 countries worldwide.
The IACC has become the world’s premier global forum for bringing together heads of states, the civil societies, the private sector and more to tackle the increasingly sophisticated challenges posed by corruption.
