Zumunta Association USA Inc. Announces 2025 Annual Convention in Nigeria, Applauds NiDCOM

The Zumunta Association USA Inc., a non-partisan and non-religious organization dedicated to promoting Nigeria’s cultural heritage and national development, has announced its 2025 annual convention in Nigeria. The event, themed “From Connection to Action: Mobilizing Local Experience and Diasporan Insights for National Development,” will take place from July 14 to 23, 2025, in Lafia, Nasarawa State.
In a press conference held today at the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), the President Zumata USA, Incorporated, Mr Sunday Bitrus gave a rundown of the activities to include A three-day medical outreach program, which will be held at Gudi General Hospital in Akwanga, Nasarawa State, from July 14 to 16, 2025, open to the public: 1,000 youths to receive ICT training across three locations in Lafia, Nasarawa State, from July 14 to 18, 2025, with best-performing participants receiving IT tools and Google-certified training; A business meeting that will focus on strategic sectors such as agriculture, mining, health, and housing on July 21, 2025; A gala night and awards ceremony to be held on July 22, 2025, to recognize outstanding contributions.
He noted that the Zumunta Association aims to serve the needs of its members, partner with host communities, promote unbiased discourse on national development and contribute to meaningful dialogue, social and economic advancement in other to create a peaceful, just, and sustainable international Nigerian community.
Mr Bitrus commended NiDCOM for achieving so much in five years or existence.
Speaking, Honourable Margaret Elayo, Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Nasarawa State, described Gov. Abdullahi Sule of
Nasarawa state as a selfless leader who saw the need to replicate quality infrastructure that he experienced as a Diaspora in America, in the state.
“Those of you that had passed through Huston Texas and Washington by the time you get to Lafia the capital of Nasarawa, you will think
you are in one of those places,” she disclosed.
Elayo noted that the choice of the state as venue was because it is the home of solid minerals.
