Youth Minister Commends Nigerian Youths For Leading the Nation Into A Future of Prosperity.

As Africa marks 2023 youth day, highlighting issues affecting young people in Nigeria, with the aim of tackling these issues to support the youth is key to nations development

The Minister of Youth Development Dr Jamila Bio Ibrahim has heaped praises on the Nigerian youths on their continued steadfastness and resilience strive to have a more promising Africa despite the challenges in the country.

“We gather not only to acknowledge the challenges our youth face but also to
recognize the power they possess to overcome, innovate, and lead Nigeria into a future of prosperity.”

At the National Youth Day event organized by the Ministry of Youth Development in collaboration with the United Nations Population Fund held in Abuja with the theme: 1 million Next Level is Knocking: Renewed Hope for Nigeria Youth Dr. Ibrahim assured the youth that the administration of His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu will continue to invest in entrepreneurship, skills and career development.

“Harnessing the Creativity
and Potentials of Nigerian Youth, the
Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu through the Ministry of Youth Development has various targeted innovative programmes to
equip youth with entrepreneurial and vocational skills; a mentorship and life
enhancement programme for youth; Digital Skills Programmes, amongst others.

“There are also platforms like the Nigerian Youth Parliament where youth are trained in Leadership and Legislative procedures. The National Youth Council of Nigeria” said the Minister

Dr. Ibrahim called on stakeholders to foster an environment that nurtures the dreams, encourages curiosity, critical thinking and fearless of the youth

The Minister reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to promoting new technologies in Nigeria adding that the country is growing tech industry that is already making waves on the global stage.

She expressed gratitude to the Ministry’s partners, United Nations Population Fund, Youth Alive Foundation, her team and others for putting together a remarkable platform for recognition of Nigerian youth and the amplification of their voices

Also speaking, the Honourable Minister of State, for Youth Development, Mr. Ayodele Olawande, said the Africa/ National Youth Day is a day to celebrate the achievements of youth, acknowledge their challenges, and chart a course for a brighter future for the young generation.

Speaking on the sub-theme,
“Renewed Hope for the Youth: Harnessing our Creativity and Potential for National Development,” Olawande emphasized the need for collective efforts in nurturing the creativity and
potential of our youth towards nation-building

“Together, let us forge a path that transcends borders, a path that leads to a future vwhere the potential of every young Nigerian is harnessed for the greater development of our nation.”

In his remarks, the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, Ismaila Abubakar assured the government’s commitment in creating an enabling environment for the youth.

“As stakeholder in youth development, I assure you of government’s unwavering support in creating an enabling environment for our youth to flourish. We will invest in education,empower through skills development and foster an atmosphere that encourage innovation”

He charged all to build a future where the aspirations of youth becomes the reality of the nation.
