Youth and Sports Minister Dissolves Nigeria House

The Youth and Sports Minister, Hon. Sunday Dare has dissolved the Nigeria House, promising that the Ministry and the Nigeria Olympics Committee ( NOC) will subject the body and it’s activities to a forensic review;  with a view to reposition it.
Hon. Sunday Dare made this known at a meeting with Presidents, Technical Directors and Secretaries General of National Sports & Federations involved  with the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games, held at the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
The Minister stated that pending the review of the activities of the Nigeria House, he has directed the NOC to dissolve forthwith the leadership of the Body to allow for a proper review.
The Nigeria House is an initiative to address social aspects of the Olympics.
Dare disclosed that the National Council for Arts and Culture was invited to join the meeting, to ensure early preparations for  the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. The objective, according to the Minister, is to accommodate sister agencies, in a  renewed attention to the socio-cultural aspects of the Olympics, as well as positively projecting the image of Nigeria at the Olympics.
Speaking at the occasion, the Permanent Secretary, Mr Olusade Adesola, said the primary objective of bringing major stakeholders and technocrats together, is to  strategise and forge a way forward for attainment of podium performances at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympic Games.
