YALA ACHIEVERS SUMMIT & AWARD 2024: FCT CP Ben Igweh nominated as Exceptional Security Officer of the year

The Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), CP Bennett Chinedum Igweh has been nominated for the prestigious Yala Achievers Summit and Awards 2024 as Exceptional Security Officer of the Year.
CP Igweh, who received the award nomination letter on Thursday in his office at the FCT Police Command in Abuja, was nominated in recognition of his gallantry, professionalism and aggressive approach of policing towards tackling and fighting crimes and criminality and reducing cases of kidnapping, banditry, pick pocket, one chance criminals and armed robbery to the barest minimum in the FCT.
The CEO of Moj’s Entertainment Ltd organisers of the Yala Achievers Summit and Awards, Mr Odey Jacob (aka Odey the Uncommon Comedian) led his team including Mr Ebriku John Friday to make the present the award letter to CP Igweh. Odey noted that for over 20 years of residing in the Nation’s capital city, CP Igweh is the best as the disturbing rise of crime rates in the FCT has been nipped in the bud, which is the main reason he deserved to be honoured and celebrated as an exceptional security officer of the year.
Benneth Chinedum Igweh, assumed office as the 31st FCT Commissioner of Police, on Friday, February 2, 2024, and pledged to tackle kidnapping, ‘one chance’ robbery, banditry, and other crimes in FCT.
The CP, who took over from AIG Haruna Garba following the latter’s promotion to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police, is an operational police officer whose experience is believed to come in handy in the fight against criminality in FCT.
CP Igweh was born on October 7, 1968. He hails from Akatta Oru-East LGA, Imo State, Nigeria. He attended the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Enugu State, where he bagged a Bachelor of Science Degree in Estate Management. His quest for further educational qualifications made him bag a Master’s Degree in Business Administration at the same university.
CP Igweh was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force in 1996 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police and was trained at the prestigious Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State.
The CP has served in the Nigeria Police Force in several operational, administrative, and intelligence capacities.
Before his redeployment as the FCT Commissioner of Police, He was the Commander, Special Intervention Squad, Abuja.
This year’s Yala Achievers Summit/Awards 2024 ceremony with the Theme: “Celebrating You Immense Contributions To Humanity and Promotion of Harmony In Our Communities”, is slated for:
