What Transportation Minister told Journalists on the released 23 Abuja-Kaduna Remaining Passengers

In the attack which took place 28 March, 2022, 168 passengers were kidnapped along the Abuja- Kaduna railway in Nigeria, while 8 died. Release of victims has been in batches with the 23 being the last batch in captivity.

The minister of Transportation, Mu’azu Sambo while briefing journalists after waiting for 6 hours, commended everyone involved in the release which according to him, was secured with out payment of ransom. However, Journalists could not interact with the released victims.

Mu’azu also disclosed that action is being taken to ensure improved security before commencing rail services on Abuja-Kaduna corridor.

The permanent secretary, ministry of transportation, Dr Magdalene Ajani said all released victims have access to health care including post trauma care to ensure rehabilitation.
