WEP: Youth Ministry Pays N80m to 2,682 Interns for August, September

The Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development has paid the sum of Eighty Million, Four Hundred and Sixty Thousand Naira(N80,460,000) to Two Thousand, Six Hundred and Eighty Two(2,682) internship participants under its Work Experience Programme(WEP) Initiative.
These payments are for the months of August and September 2021, covering the participants in both the North and South.
A breakdown of the payments shows that the number of beneficiaries in both zones also witnessed increases.
In the North, the number of participants increased from Six Hundred and Twenty(620) in August to Eight Hundred and Forty Seven(847) in September while in the South, the number increased from Four Hundred and Forty Nine(449) in August to Seven Hundred and Sixty Six(766) in September.
The Work Experience Programme(WEP) Initiative is a three month internship programme that provides participants with the opportunity to gain relevant first hand knowledge, develop skills and workplace competencies that will enhance their employability.
