Weather outlook for Nigeria from August 28 to 30, 2025- NiMet 

DAY 1: Thursday, August 28, 2025
Northern Region: Thunderstorms with moderate rains expected over parts of Borno, Yobe, Gombe, Bauchi, Adamawa, and Taraba states.
Central Region: Cloudy skies with thunderstorms and moderate rains expected over Nasarawa, Benue, Niger, Plateau, and the Federal Capital Territory.
Southern Region: Cloudy skies with intermittent light rains anticipated over parts of Rivers, Bayelsa, Cross River, and Akwa Ibom states.

Day 2: Friday, August 29, 2025
Northern Region: Thunderstorms with moderate rains anticipated over parts of Katsina, Kano, Adamawa, Taraba, Yobe, Borno, Jigawa, Kaduna, Gombe, and Bauchi states.
Central Region: Light rains expected over parts of the Federal Capital Territory, Nasarawa, Niger, and Plateau states.
Southern Region: Intermittent light rains expected over the region with prospects of light rains over parts of Oyo, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, Ekiti, Anambra, Ebonyi, Abia, Rivers, Bayelsa, Cross River, and Akwa Ibom states.

DAY 3: Saturday, August 30, 2025
Northern Region: Thunderstorms with moderate rains anticipated over parts of Taraba, Adamawa, Gombe, Borno, Yobe, and Bauchi states.
Central Region: Cloudy skies with chances of light rains over parts of the Federal Capital Territory, Nasarawa, Niger, Kogi, and Benue states. There’s a high possibility of flooding in parts of Niger, Kogi, and Benue states.
Southern Region: Cloudy skies with light rains expected over the region. There’s a high possibility of flooding in parts of Ogun, Ondo, Lagos, Cross River, and Ebonyi states.

Advisories
– Avoid driving under heavy rain.
– Activate emergency management actions in states with possible flash floods.
– Refrain from applying fertilizers and pesticides before rains.
– Ensure warm clothing for vulnerable persons due to low nighttime temperatures.
– Fasten loose objects to avoid collisions.
– Disconnect electrical appliances from sockets.
– Stay away from tall trees.
– Airline operators should get airport-specific weather reports from NiMet.
