The Federal Government initiative is for the provision of unlimited broadband on campus and 20 markets to be implemented by the National Communications Commission.

Prof. Obi on behalf of her university, received the institution award as part of batch 1.
The Initiative was initiated by Prof. Pantami to promote learning. However, the approval heeded a memo presented by Pantami before the Federal Executive Council chaired by President Muhammadu Buhari on 11/November/2022.
