UN ASSURES CONTINUED COLLABORATION WITH NIGERIA IN ADDRESSING TERRORISM AND VIOLENCE

Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office in Geneva and other International Organizations, H.E. Ambassador Abiodun Richards Adejola, on Thursday, 17th June 2021, presented his Letter of Credence to the Director- General of the United Nations Office in Geneva, Ms. Tatiana Valovaya.
Ambassador Adejola who was accompanied by some staff of Nigeria’s Permanent Mission in Geneva, Switzerland, assured of a robust working relations with the global body in line with Nigeria’s national interest, global peace and security.
On her part, the DG Ms. Tatiana Valovaya assured that the UN will continue to engage and actively collaborate with Nigeria to address the challenges of terrorism and violent extremism.
She commended Nigeria’s involvement in the SDG and pledged further support by the UN to address a number of humanitarian challenges in Nigeria, not the least, the ongoing assistance for the North East by UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA)
