Two brothers arrested for allegedly raping 9-year-old in Enugu

The Enugu State Police has arrested two brothers, Chima Nnamani and Michael Nnamani, for allegedly raping a nine-year-old minor in the Nkanu East Local Government Area of the state.

The Police in a statement issued by its Public Relations Officer, ASP Daniel Ndukwe said Prof. Joy Ezeilo, Founder of Women Aid Collective (WACOL), had called for the immediate prosecution of the two suspects and that investigation have begun.

Ndukwe said, “Case-file and suspects involved in the case of alleged defilement of a nine-year-old have all been transferred to State Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Enugu, for conclusive investigation.” he said.

Ezeilo, who is also the Executive Director of WACOL, had said “On Nov. 28, 2021, that the organization received a case of defilement of a nine-year-old girl by two brothers from the same biological parents.
