Senator Otu is Passionate about Welfare of Senior Citizens, says Ironbar … As NSCC donates Assistive Devices to Cross River State Government.

The Chief of Staff to the Cross River State Governor, Hon. Emmanuel Ironbar has said that the Cross River State Governor, Prince Edet Bassey Otu is passionate about the wellbeing of the elderly and other vulnerable persons in the state.
Ironbar stated this when he received assistive devices for older persons with Disabilities on behalf of the Cross River State Government, on Thursday at the Headquarters of the National Senior Citizens Center (NSCC), Abuja,in the company of Hon. Patrick Egbede, Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Empowerment.
He eulogized the the Director General of NSCC, Dr Emem Omokaro for the laudable achievement of the Centre in too years and assured that the his boss, Gov Otu is willing to partner with the centre in order to enhance the to welfare of the Seniors in the state, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Speaking, the NSCC Boss who commended the Executive Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency, Senator Oru, for his outreach programs and the regard he has accorded the Centre.
She said, “Sir I acknowledge your presence, and acknowledge the regard that you have accorded the Centre. This says a lot. One about commitment to relationship and partnership and then commitment to whatever it is that you can do to improve the lot of your citizens no matter how small. In our last meeting with Commissioners Forum, we got two Commissioners and a Director General from the state.
“We have been following his Peoples First Agenda and I am exited how the people are at ease with him. The People’s First agenda and then the biometrics capturing for Senior Citizens. It’s a privilege for us to work with him.
“For a very long time older persons were neglected from the scheme of things and now there is an awakening and Commissioners were called to let them know that issues of older persons is not just a tiny welfare thing and pushing them aside, but it is core of the sustainable development
“We have a very transformative a d innovative programs, not just programs that will impact live but will create jobs, and it is my pleasure that I am in that position that can hand over these devices that grant access, inclusion and participation to older persons.
