Rev. Otu Provides Succour as Birthday gift

The First Lady of Cross River State, Rev. Mrs Eyoanwan Bassey Otu has launched her NGO called “Humanity Without Borders Empowerment Initiative” (HUWIB).

The initiative which is targeted at
providing succour for the vulnerable under the auspices of Health care, Education, Environment, Agriculture, and Social welfare was launched to commemorate her 60th birthday.

Speaking at the event, the Cross River State Governor, His Excellency, Sen. Bassey Otu, thanked his wife for her selflessness and humanitarian disposition, adding that, “It’s not very easy to find a wife, a partner, a confidant, a friend, and someone who is spiritual very strong to compliment you in your journey. There is nothing she gets committed to that she does not achieve results. What we share in common is to build our state and build humanity.”

Responding at her diamond jubilee celebration, Rev. Otu charged to serve humanity in every way they can saying “its been 60 years of great achievements and accomplishments, ranging from the Ministry to my career, my family and destiny.”

“Humanity is loving, caring, sharing. It’s putting smiles on people’s faces to make them happy. We all have a responsibility, which is to put our hands together and push this great state forward to an enviable height through support for the government and humanity.”

Also, speaking at the event,
the Wife of the former Governor of Cross River State, Onari Duke, while celebrating Rev. Otu indicated that she was a true epitome of humanity, praying God to keep her for many more years.

In attendance were the First Ladies of Ebonyi and Abia states, political stalwarts, implementing partners, and a host of others.

Highlights of the celebration were ministration by top gospel artist Mercy Chinwo, Ekanem Esu, and cutting of the 60th birthday cake.
