RENEWED HOPE AGENDA: HON Nkeiruka Onyejeocha Launches Delivery Team for Labour Ministry

The Minister of State, Labour and Employment, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, on Thursday inaugurated the Ministry’s reconstituted Delivery Team, as well as flag off a two-day Step-Down Training on Tracking and Reporting of Presidential Priorities and Ministerial Deliverables, organised for top management and members of the Delivery Team.
Speaking before the inauguration, Hon. Onyejeocha noted that the Ministry of Labour and Employment plays a crucial role in shaping the socio-economic landscape of our nation. The Ministry is tasked, with ensuring that the labour force is empowered, protected, and adequately utilized for the growth and development of our country. As we embark on this journey of renewal and progress, it is essential to recognize the importance of this Ministry in driving the agenda of change and transformation.
She charged the Heads of Agencies under the Ministry to see their roles as critical in the actualization of our goals by deploying their leadership and working closely with their teams and other stakeholders to achieve our objectives.
She urged the the team to focus on y priority areas within the Ministry’s mandate listed as follows which include: Reform the economy to deliver sustained inclusive growth; Boost agriculture to achieve food security; Focus on education, health, and social investment as essential pillars of development; Accelerate diversification through industrialization, digitization, creative arts, manufacturing & innovation; and Improve governance for effective service delivery.
On essence of the training Nkeiruka emphasized, “Today’s training on Tracking and Reporting of Presidential Priorities and Ministerial Deliverables is aimed at equipping us with the necessary tools and skills to effectively monitor and evaluate our progress. It is essential that we are able to track our performance against set targets and report accurately on our achievements”,
Speaking earlier in opening remarks, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr Ismaila Abubakar stressed the need to focus on priority areas.
“With the leadership of the Honourable Minister of State, and the support of the management and staff of the Ministry and its Agencies, we are assured of contributing immensely to the achievement of Mr. President’s desired goals for Nigerians” , he concluded.
A Director in the Ministry, Mr Chris Amadi leads the 22 members of the reconstituted Delivery Team.
