QATAR 2022: Senegal, Tunisia, Cameroon and Morocco get tickets

It was a repeat of the Africa Cup of Nations and Senegal once again pipped Egypt to book a ticket to the World Cup in November.
The first match had ended in 1-0 scoreline for the Pharaohs but the Teranga Lions kicked off early in the second leg as they scored in the first half through Boulaye Dia and the game stayed that till penalties.
Sadio Mane scored the decisive penalty to send senagal to the world cup after his Liverpool teammate, Mohammed Salah had missed.
Cameroon secured an eighth World Cup qualification which is a record for an African side after a dramatic match up in Algeria.
Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting scored in the first half to level the game from the first leg and send the game to extra time.
Algeria looked on course to booking a place in Qatar courtesy of Ahmed Touba’s 118th-minute header, but Karl Toko-Ekambi scored in the fourth minute of added time to stun the home crowd in Blida and win the tie on away goals.
Tunisia made it back-to-back World Cup appearances after a goalless draw in Tunis as they saw off Mali 1-0 on aggregate, while Morocco had a comfortable evening as a 4-1 home win over DR Congo secured a 5-2 triumph over two legs.
Azzedine Ounahi got a brace while one goal each from Tarik Tissoudali and Achraf Hakimi saw the Atlas Lions book their sixth trip to the finals.
The African contingents now await Friday’s group-stage draw to know who they will face in Qatar.
