Professional bodies are very important, says UI VC

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Professor Kayode Oyebode Adebowale has noted that professional bodies are very important in the moderation of professional courses in the University.
He made this observation while receiving members of the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria (PCN) during a courtesy visit to his office.
Professor Adebowale commended the Council for the last professional Pharmacy accreditation exercise, saying such exercises keep the University on its toes towards achieving excellence.
The Registrar of the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria, Pharm. I. B. Ahmed, FPSN, was represented by Dr Y. O. Oseni, the Director of the South- West Office of the PCN.
Dr Oseni said the PCN team was in UI for the induction of 58 graduates of Pharmacy for the 2021/2022 academic session.
She commended the University for the facilities provided for the last accreditation exercise by the Council but urged the VC to improve the Dean’s office to accommodate laboratories and more offices.
Dr Oseni also commended UI for being one of the first sets of Nigerian Universities to start the Pharm D (Doctor of Pharmacy) programme.
On the PCN team were Professor S. O. Idowu, Dean of Pharmacy in UI; Dr A. A. Ishola, Director of Pharmaceutical Services, UCH; Pharm. Akinwande B. Lukman, Director of Pharmaceutical Services, Oyo State; abd Dr Olayinka Adeyemi, President UI Faculty of Pharmacy Alumni Association.
Others were, Pharm. Ogunlola Adenike, Pharm. Edna Elimian, Pharm. S. S. Santuraki from PCN Abuja; Pharm. Olumide O. Ajayi, and Pharm. F. Oyelude from PCN Oyo State, and Pharm. A. Oguntoye of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria.
They were accompanied by some academic and non teaching staff of the Faculty of Pharmacy University of Ibadan.
