P. Noble Awards Chief Media Aide PhD Scholarship

Paul Okah

Following his unrelenting efforts in publicising the activities of the Ebonyi State government, the Commissioner for Project Monitoring and Evaluation, Chief Ukie Ezeali (P. Noble) has given a scholarship award to his Chief Media Aide, Hon. Ogbonnia Nwachi, to study in any university of his choice up to PhD level.

Making the declaration Tuesday night at the popular P. Noble Hotels and Suites, Afikpo, P Noble said that, based on his observation of the hitherto unrewarded efforts of the media aide, especially with regards to appreciating the efforts of Governor Dave Umahi in developing Ebonyi state, Hon. Ogbonnia Nwachi deserves the scholarship.

The commissioner expressed gratitude to the state governor, Engr. David Nweze Umahi, for bringing him into politics and promised to continue contributing his quota towards helping the governor to achieve his dreams of a better Ebonyi State.

He said: “I am learning a lot from His Excellency, Engr. David Umahi, in human empowerment. Though I am a witness to the literary prowess of Ogbonnia Nwachi as my Chief Media Aide, it never occurred to me before now to empower him. His capacity in promoting the development strides of the state governor is not in doubt. He is an orator and great commander of the English language.

“Nwachi is presently a Principal 1 in Government Secondary School, Afikpo, but his reputation is overshadowing him. I have to award him this scholarship to study up to the PhD level in any discipline and institution of his choice within Nigeria. He deserves the award. He has served in different capacities to different politicians without benefiting anything from them. The politicians only used him to feather their selfish nests, so I have to help out in any way I can.”

Expressing his gratitude, Ogbonnia Nwachi said that he will further his studies in an undisclosed university, even as he promised not to relent in promoting the developmental strides of the state governor.

“I am overwhelmed. I didn’t envisage this. In fact, I lack words to express my gratitude. As a teacher, I lost opportunities for promotion in the classroom; while serving different politicians. Nobody deemed it fit to appreciate me until I started working fully for His Excellency, Dave Umahi and P Noble, without any recommendation.

“I can do anything for the two individuals above. They’re my second God because I never believed that I will have another opportunity to further my education. May God bless governor Umahi and P. Noble for remembering me in their empowerment schemes. It is for the good of humanity and I promise to continue working towards the betterment of the state and humanity in line with the governor and Honourable commissioner’s agenda,” he said.
