Opposition Alliance No Match for Tinubu’s Achievements- TMSG tells Galadima

The Tinubu Stakeholders Forum (TSF) has dismissed recent comments by Buba Galadima that an opposition alliance would oust the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027 as baseless grandstanding.

This, according to the group, is because the President Bola Tinubu administration has, since assuming office, implemented policies and programmes that have stabilised the economy.

In a statement signed by its Chairman, Ahmad Sajoh, and Secretary, Danjuma Sada, TDF outlined some of the policies of the administration, which it said the opposition is reluctant to acknowledge.

It said: “Since assuming office, President Tinubu has implemented courageous reforms that have stabilised the economy and laid the foundation for sustainable growth.

“His early moves—ending the fuel subsidy regime and unifying exchange rates—have since averted fiscal collapse and restored investor confidence. Inflation is slowing, oil production is rising, and key sectors are recovering.

“Active oil rigs have nearly doubled under his watch, and according to Wood Mackenzie, Nigeria led Sub-Saharan Africa in 2025 with $5.3 billion in oil and gas investment—despite an 18% regional decline.

“The country moved from capturing just 4% of sanctioned African projects (2015–2023) to 38% in 2024–2025 alone.”

The Forum also pointed to transformative pro-people policies.

“These include raising the national minimum wage from ₦30,000 to ₦70,000, a landmark student loan programme disbursing ₦161.97 billion to over 864,000 students across 263 public institutions, and a historic increase in federal allocations to states—₦5.81 trillion in 2024, up 62% from ₦3.58 trillion the previous year,” it noted.

In education and youth empowerment, TSF praised the nationwide TVET programme targeting one million young Nigerians.

“Over 250,000 are already enrolled across 2,600 centres, receiving practical training in trades like fashion, modern farming, and tech repair.

“Participants earn ₦22,500 monthly stipends and receive starter packs to launch small businesses.

“With over 960,000 verified applicants and Bank of Industry support underway, the programme is redefining youth entrepreneurship,” the group argued.

The Forum noted that Nigeria’s economic recovery is now being validated both domestically and internationally, contrary to what opposition figures want Nigerians to believe.

“Recent reports by The Economist indicate that Nigeria’s economy, once on the brink, is now on a clear trajectory of growth, driven by decisive reforms such as subsidy removal and exchange-rate unification. These reforms, TSF recalled, also averted a looming subnational crisis.

“The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has confirmed that without President Tinubu’s interventions, no fewer than 27 states would have collapsed, unable to pay salaries or perform basic responsibilities of government.

“We are also aware that many states are clearing long-standing pension and gratuity backlogs, having been strengthened by improved revenues and fiscal discipline.

“For us, this reform-driven stability is what is attracting Nigerians and even former opponents to align with President Tinubu, just as the collapse of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) experiment, following the exit of its only governor, underscores the exhaustion of the political misadventure promoted by figures such as Buba Galadima.

“It is also increasingly clear that the so-called opposition alliance is a recycled coalition of ambition, lacking cohesion or a credible vision.

“No hastily assembled alliance can erase the mandate freely given by the Nigerian people.

“We want to remind Galadima that the scope, depth, and impact of President Tinubu’s reforms are far beyond the grasp of the feeble opposition he represents.

“These are not routine political gestures, but nation-defining actions that demand strategic thinking, courage, and long-term vision—qualities sorely lacking in those who reduce governance to empty rhetoric and recycled alliances.

“So while the opposition clings to outdated tactics and opportunistic coalitions, President Tinubu is laying the structural foundation for a prosperous and self-reliant Nigeria, it added.
