ONDO 2024 COUNTDOWN: INEC Distributes Sensitive Materials to Local Government Areas

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), on Thursday distributed sensitive materials to all 18 local government areas ahead of the Saturday, November 16 poll.
The distribution was done with observation of representatives of the political parties participating in the election and security agencies including the Police, NSCDC, FRSC, Immigration, Customs and DSS were at the venue of the exercise.
Oluwatoyin Babalola, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), in Ondo State, monitored the exercise at the Akure branch of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). She assured residents, political parties, and stakeholders that INEC is committed to conducting a free and fair election.
The early Distribution of Sensitive materials were distributed early to demonstrate INEC’s readiness for the election. Materials were moved to local governments simultaneously, with support from security agencies.
Boats and Navy gunboats were also arranged to transport materials and personnel to areas with difficult terrain.
There was transparency as INEC ensured that all wards and polling units received materials, with representatives from political parties and security agencies present.
The State Chairman of Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Mr. Adesanya Olaoluwa, and Chairman of APC in the state, Ade Adetimehin, commended INEC for its transparency. With all parties cooperating, the stage is set for a peaceful and democratic election in Ondo State.
