Minister of State for Youth Development, Engr. Ayodele Olawande has urged Nigerian youth to take advantage of the upcoming initiatives of the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, stating that the mandate of the ministry is strictly to facilitate growth opportunities for young people.

Speaking in Kaduna at a Youth Opportunity Summit organized by the Technical Assistant to the Vice President on Women and Youth Engagement, Hauwa Liman, the Minister advised the audience, made up largely of students and serving corps members to always seize opportunities and embrace continuous learning.

“As youth, we need to open our minds and use the power of internet and the new media at our disposal to seek out opportunities. At the ministry, there are training, development, and funding opportunities available, including the Nigerian Youth Investment Fund (NYIF), the Nigerian Youth Academy (NiYA) and a host others.

“The good news is that you don’t need any godfather under this government to access these opportunities. Don’t join those shouting ‘na lie’, because you only need to seek information and be guided on how to take advantage of the many opportunities the government is presenting to young people,” the Minister concluded.
