OGUN GOVERNOR LAUDS NSCDC ON PIPELINE PROTECTION IN THE STATE … Solicits for more security equipment for officers in the state.

Being a lead agency in the protection of the government’s critical infrastructure and national assets across the country, efforts of the NSCDC to keep the country’s oil pipelines safe received a boost and commendation from the executive governor of Ogun State Dapo Abipdun.

It will be recalled that on Wednesday 29/11/23, the Commandant General of the NSCDC Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi paid a working visit to the governor in Abeokuta, the capital of the Gateway State.

In his remarks, the governor ” would like to use the occasion to commend efforts and gallantry of the officers and men of the NSCDC in Ogun State most especially the smooth and safe monitoring, tracking and eventual distribution of the petroleum products across the state and beyond which is down to the good job being done by the officers and men of the NSCDC. Although it is a collective effort, the efforts of other security agencies cannot go unnoticed. As you are all aware Ogun State is like the economic hub and gateway of the country largely because of the proximity to Lagos the financial capital of Nigeria. Key and major oil pipelines that come from Lagos also pass through the Ogun axis and the anti-vandal unit of the NSCDC has also been alive to the responsibilities in keeping the pipelines safe from the vandal”

The governor who also praised the career-defining academic brilliance and wealth of experience of the CG mentioned efforts of the NSCDC in keeping schools in Ogun State safe with the FG’s safe school initiative and appealed to the CG for more NSCDC Agro Rangers in the State to keep the State’s forest and plantation Safe.

In his remarks, the Commandant General, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi,mni, OFR. It was in his entourage that the pioneer CG of the NSCDC Ade Abolurin, who is a son of the soil, commended the governor and the state for the support and good working atmosphere and relationship being enjoyed by the NSCDC in the State. He promised the governor that NSCDC would continue to liaise with other security agencies in the State for the continued security of lives and property in the state.

He assured the governor that he will continue to build on the good foundation laid by the Ogun State-born pioneer CG of the NSCDC Ade Abolurin which is to reposition and continue restrategizing to make sure that NSCDC always meets up with global expectations.
