The Nigeria Youth Decide (NYD)  president Mr Uche Ekpere Paul, has commended the effort of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Chairman and his team for credible deliveries of election results so far.

The NYD president stated this in a statement made available to the News Dot Africa on Monday, 25 February 2019. “I applaud  INEC Chairman Prof. Mamood Yakubu and all INEC esteemed staff, including the adhoc staff and indeed other institutions that worked with INEC in their commitment to delivering to Nigerians a credible, free, fair and transparent elections” he said.

Mr Uche also applauded the patriotic gesture of Nigerians who came out in mass to cast their ballots as against voters apathy being anticipated following the postponement of the  elections.

“It’s a non contestable fact that the over all picture of the 2019 general elections conducted by INEC  is a true reflection of our democratic development as a nation.”

He noted that though there were lapses in the course of NYD findings, the choose to  remain silent  until the election comes to  conclusion. “Not withstanding,  our attention has been drawn to the several versions of election results causing serious traffic on social media and as well as some conflicting statements by some political parties.

Mr Uche Ekpere  Paul therefore urged INEC to once again know that it is their sole responsibility  to announce the authentic election results. Therefore, INEC should  do everything possible to protect the interest of the patriotic Nigerians and as it were, respect their hallowed choice by announcing the true state of the final results.

“The Nigerian youths can no longer tolerate the level of betrayal and sabotage being unleashed against the youths and indeed the entire nation over the decades, we are solidly standing against any form of irregularities because this is the time to ask the right questions and write  the wrongs, and NYD is ever poised to champion any adventure that will bring about a stronger, united peaceful and more prosperous Nigeria.

We are however appealing to all the political parties to note that the life of a single Nigerian is as important and valuable as the lives of over 200 million Nigerians. We are not Nigerians because we are many, we are Nigerians because there’s a need for us to live together under one geographical entity. If you take the life of one Nigerian, it is as painful as though you have taken the life of all Nigerians” he remarked

“The Nigerian youth is the Nigerian pride. The pride of our nation must not be destroyed. All parties must endeavour to make sacrifices to protect the Nigerian youths and our nationhood as thus is the only country we have got therefore it should be our sole responsibility to protect one another” he concluded.
