In a show of appreciation and solidarity, National Sports Commission (NSC) Chairman Mallam Shehu Dikko donated ₦10 million to the Super Eagles B team after their impressive 3-1 win over Ghana’s Black Galaxies. This victory secured Nigeria’s spot in the 8th African Nations Championship (CHAN) scheduled for February 2025.

The pledge was initially made by NSC Director General Hon. Bukola Olopade, but Mallam Dikko took it upon himself to fulfill the donation. Hon. Olopade praised Mallam Dikko’s leadership and generosity, saying it’s a testament to his passion for Nigerian football and the athletes who represent the country.

The Super Eagles B team put on a stellar performance at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, with goals from Sodiq Ismaila, Nduka Junior, and Saviour Isaac. Despite Ghana’s consolation goal, the Nigerian team dominated the game to secure their well-deserved win.

This achievement is a significant milestone for Nigerian football, and Mallam Dikko’s gesture is a fitting reward for the team’s hard work and dedication. The 2025 CHAN tournament will be co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania from February 1 to 28, featuring players competing in Africa.
