NSC Chairman, Shehu Dikko Declares End of Run Africa Conference

The Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Shehu Dikko, has formally declared the Run Africa Conference closed, marking the end of what organizers described as a landmark gathering for sports development and collaboration across the continent.

In his closing remarks, Dikko commended participants, partners, and stakeholders for their commitment to advancing athletics and grassroots sports initiatives throughout Africa. He emphasized that the conference was not merely an event, but a movement aimed at strengthening structures, promoting youth engagement, and unlocking economic opportunities within the sports sector.

According to him, the discussions held during the conference laid a solid foundation for strategic partnerships, policy innovation, and sustainable investment in African sports. He noted that collaboration between governments, private investors, and sporting bodies remains critical to achieving long-term growth.

Dikko also highlighted the importance of nurturing local talent and building infrastructure that meets international standards, stating that Africa possesses immense untapped potential in athletics and related industries.
