NRFF President Commends Oberevwori’s Dedication to Sports, Urges Continued Support for National Youth Games

President of the Nigeria Rugby Football Federation (NRFF), Dr. Ademola Are,has praised the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Orohwedor Oborevwori, for his unwavering dedication to sports development in the state.

Dr. Ademola Are highlighted the governor’s consistent commitment to youth and sports development in Delta State through various community-oriented programs aimed at enhancing the well-being of the populace.

Delta State recently secured the hosting rights for the National Youth Games for the next five years, following Kwara State’s tenure. This underscores the state’s steadfast commitment to sports development, evident in its ongoing efforts to construct sports infrastructure across the region.

As preparations intensify for the forthcoming National Youth Games scheduled for September 7th to 17th, 2024, Dr. Ademola emphasized the importance of early planning in ensuring a successful and globally recognized event.

Addressing challenges encountered during the previous edition, such as accommodation and venue availability, Dr. Ademola Are stressed the importance of addressing these issues through proactive measures and early preparations.

He expressed confidence in Delta State’s ability to maintain its leading position in sports by continuing to invest in youth development and sports initiatives.

For over a decade, Delta State has remained at the forefront of Nigerian sports, largely due to consistent investments in sports by successive administrations. The current administration continues this trend with deliberate plans aimed at furthering sports development in the state.
