President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government has reiterated its promise that no part of the country will suffer neglect for reason of geographical location or political affiliation.
The Minister of Women Affairs, Dame Pauline Tallen, OFR KSG who represented the President at the official commissioning and handing-over of an erosion control project at Sabon Gida Village in Langtang South Local Government Area of Plateau State gave this reassuarance on Monday, 2nd August, 2021.
The President as ably represented by the Women Affairs Minister expressed the Government’s determination to continue with the implementation of all genuine policies, agreements and contracts which are directed at laying a solid foundation in the quest for a viral and prosperous nation.
While handing over the project which was awarded in 2019 to address the devastating effects of erosion in the area, and aimed at easier mobility in the locality to enhance opportunities for economic growth of the people.
Dame Tallen enjoined the community to own the project by maintaining and sustaining it.
In their separate remarks, the Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong and the Permanent Secretary in Ecological Fund Office, Dr. Hadiza Lawal who was also represented at the occasion by the sponsor of the project and a former Minister of Youths and Sports Development, Solomon Dalung, the Royal Father of the Area, Chief Bamaiyi Gosele among other key stakeholders expressed appreciation for President Muhammadu Buhari for completing the huge project, which the benefiting community described as the first of its kind in the Local Government since the return of democracy in 1999.
After the commissioning, the Women Affairs Minister undertook a guided tour of the various sites of the project.
