Nimrod Musa Gets Another Tenure as President of NVBF

Engr. Nimrod Musa has been re-elected as the President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation Federation (NVBF), for another four years term consecutively.
The news was received with great excitement and anticipation, as Musa promises to introduce fresh initiatives that will take volleyball in Nigeria to new heights.
The election took place at the package B indoor games complex, Moshood Abiola National Stadium Abuja.
As the World eagerly anticipates the upcoming Tokyo Olympics, all eyes are on the leadership that will be guiding their countries athletes through this prestigious international event.
One such leader is Engr. Habu Ahmed Gumel, the Nigerian Olympic Committee (NOC), President, who has been making waves in the Nigerian sports scene for decades. Because of his passion and dedication to sports growth in Nigeria, he was at the elections of the Nigerian Volleyball Federation and witnessed how all the elected board committee members cast all their votes for the former President, Musa Nimrod.
Gumel, fondly known as the “Father of Volleyball ” in Nigeria, was excited as he extended his warmest congratulations to Nimrod for his re-election as the President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation.
Engr. Habu Ahmed praised Musa’s leadership and vision, which have led to significant improvement in the sport during his first term in office.
From organising national and international tournaments to enhancing the training and development of players, “Musa’s efforts have undoubtedly brought Nigerian Volleyball to new heights.”
Also Engr. Gumel’s joy also stems from the fact that Musa’s re-election means continuity and stability for the Nigeria Volleyball Federation. His excitement and presence at the annual general meeting 445 and 476 elections endear him to the Federation as indeed their Father.
Mr Musa’s re-election is a testament to his dedication and unwavering passion for the development of volleyball in Nigeria. During his previous term, he implemented various programmes that resulted in the growth and success of the sport in the country.
This includes the establishment of a National Volleyball League, which has provided a platform for young talents to showcase their skills and compete at a national level.
“With this re-election, I plan to build on these achievements and take Nigerian Volleyball to even greater heights.
“He also pledges to introduce and work more on the development of grassroots volleyball programmes as a key initiative.
“This is a move that will not only help to identify and nurture young talents but also increase the popularity of the sports in schools and communities.” He said.

In this second phase of his re-election, another exciting initiative that Musa plans to implement is the training and development of coaches and referees. This is crucial, he said, to ensure that the quality of volleyball in Nigeria improves at all levels.
With well trained coaches and referees, it is expected that Nigerian volleyball teams will be able to compete at international level and bring home prestigious titles.
Furthermore, Nimrod aims to create partnership and collaboration with other national and international volleyball federations. According to him, this will open up more opportunities for Nigerian players to compete in tournaments abroad and gain exposure to different styles of play.
Also, he stressed that It will allow for exchange of knowledge and expertise, which will contribute to the overall growth of the Nigerian Volleyball.
In addition, Musa has also pledged to focused on the welfare of the players and officials. This includes providing access to training facilities, medical care, and financial support for athletes.
He emphasized that with proper support and resources, Nigerian Volleyball players will be able to excel on the court and represent the country with pride.
“I am honoured to have been re-elected as the President of the NVBF, this is a testament to the hard work and dedication of my team members and I. We have achieved a lot in the past 4 years and I am confident that with our fresh initiatives, Nigerian volleyball will continue to grow and produce world-class players.”
In the elections, Musa Nimrod ran unopposed and was confirmed at the Federation’s election by l16 elected committee board members as well as the accredited delegates, all rallied behind Nimrod’s nomination and cementing his position as the preferred candidate for the Presidential elections in front of the Nigeria Olympic Committee President, Engr. Habu Ahmed Gumel.
Nimrod also promised to hit the ground running, stating, “after our inauguration….we will have many projects that we are going to execute even before the end of this year. These projects include youth programmes and participation in the upcoming African Games in Angola.
Aside from the Presidential elections, Ambassador Prince Tunde Omisore was also declared the winner of the first Vice President position by 15 votes and one void, the second Vice President seat was won by Arch.Adamu Tanimu by 9 votes against C.I Ezugwu Nkechi Monica, NAWIS Representative who polled 7 votes,
Zonal representatives were also nominated, South-South is Famous Daunemigha, North-West is Engr. Nimrod Musa, South-West is Prince Babatunde Omisore, South-East is Nwosu Kingsley Obinna, North-East is DCP Stephen Hasso (RTD), North-Central is Mrs Bolcit Barhep-Amakiri.
Elections were also conducted for Technical and Athletes Representatives with Timothy Samuel Ayodele who won by a great margin defeating Aye Edosa Ndubuisi, 54 to 24 votes as the new Technical Representative.
In the Athletes’ Representative elections, Umar Dauda Sage won by edging with 16 votes, followed by Egeh Mathew, 11 votes and 9 votes by Ayodele Harrison.
