Nigeria Makes History with Election to ACFE Board of Regents

In a landmark achievement for Nigeria’s anti-fraud profession, David Nkang Odu has been nominated and elected into the Board of Regents of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) — the preeminent global body for fraud prevention and detection professionals.
This milestone marks the first time a Sub-Saharan African has been elected to the ACFE Board of Regents, the governing body responsible for setting strategic direction and standards for the worldwide community of Certified Fraud Examiners.
Odu’s election underscores Nigeria’s growing influence in global efforts to combat fraud, corruption, and illicit financial flows. It also follows recent international recognition for Nigeria’s strengthened financial integrity framework.
The ACFE, known for its rigorous certification and extensive anti-fraud resources, said the election reinforces its commitment to diverse leadership and inclusive governance in the global fight against economic crime.
