NiDCOM BOSS RECEIVES ANOTHER RECOGNITION

Another award has been conferred on Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the Chairman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) by a voluntary organisation, Educate Africa Institute (EAI).

According to a statement signed by the Head of Media, Public Relations and Protocol Unit, NiDCOM, Abdur-Rahman Balogun the award comes barely three weeks after receiving the ‘Integrity Icon of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Awards’ and ‘Gold Medalist in Public Administration’ by the Centre for Ethics and Self value Orientation.

Speaking during the visit to the Chairman in Abuja, Mr. Anthony Chinedu Osuji, the Country Director, EAI (SierraLeone) said the award was to honour the NiDCOM Boss for her selfless efforts, doggedness, humaneness and strategic leadership in the Diaspora.

Receiving the award on her behalf, Engr. Dr. Sule Yakubu Bassi, the Secretary to the Commission, thanked the group for singling the Chairman for this recognition.

He gave the assurance that the award will encourage the Commission to work more in engaging with the Diaspora and harnessing its human and material resources for national development.

Recall that the NiDCOM Boss, Hon Abike Dabiri-Erewa was recently awarded in recognition of her contributions towards the advancement of the right to information in Nigeria.

The EAI is a voluntary, think-tank organisation founded in 2017 aimed at debating government issues, promote educational policies and economic development, as well as support the government in West Africa in areas such as Strategic Communication, Education and Youth Empowerment.

The Institute has offices across West Africa, with its regional office in Sierra Leone.
