Hon Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, NiDCOM, has met with the Libyan Ambassador to Nigeria Amb. Ayad M.F. Attayary in Abuja to demand justice over the burning to death of a Nigerian in Tripoli last week.
In release signed by Mr Gabriel Odu,
Media, Public Relations and Protocol Unit of NiDCOM, Hon Abike stressed “all we want is justice ensuring that the Pepertrators are brought to book”
The Libyan envoy gave assurances of an open and transparent Libyan legal system where justice is served on the three alleged killers. Amb. Ayad M. F. Attayary painted a sordid picture of migrants still losing their lives off the Mediterranean Sea and the Sahara desert in all attempts to make Europe.
It could be recalled that early last week reports by major news networks indicate that a Nigerian was set ablaze by petrol in a factory allegedly by three Libyan Nationals. This act has been condemned by the International Organisation for Migration, the United Nations and the Libyan Interior Ministry. Though the full identity of the Nigerian has not been made known but the three alleged killers are under full investigation and interrogations and will face judgement soon.
