New National Carrier to Take Flight Under President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda

Dr. Ibrahim Kana, the new Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace, has assured Nigerians that President Tinubu’s administration will birth a new national carrier. Kana made this promise at the handover ceremony, where he took over from the outgoing Permanent Secretary, Dr. Emmanuel Meribole.
Kana emphasized that his deployment to the ministry is timely, and he has received clear instructions from the President and the Head of Service to achieve two key tasks: establishing a new national carrier, Nigerian Air, and upgrading airports across Nigeria to international standards.
The Permanent Secretary expressed his commitment to working with Minister Festus Keyamo to actualize the President’s renewed hope agenda for the aviation sector. He also urged directors and heads of agencies to collaborate towards achieving a renewed Nigerian aviation sector.
Kana, who has a track record of transformational leadership, having spearheaded reforms in the Ministry of Defence, is optimistic that Nigeria Air will be operational within President Tinubu’s tenure. He emphasized the importance of localization, challenging the team to work together to achieve localized training and aircraft maintenance.
Outgoing Permanent Secretary, Dr. Emmanuel Meribole, who is billed for retirement noted that administrative aspect of governance is a continuous process to achieve national goals through the Government of the day. He there urges staff to extend immense support given him to the new Permanent Secretary, Dr Kana, who said has capacity to achieve the Aviation mandate in Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
