NEMSA, FGN Power Company Strengthen Partnership to Boost Power Sector Safety

The Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA), has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening collaboration with the FGN Power Company to improve safety standards, inspection processes, and overall performance in Nigeria’s electricity sector.

This was disclosed by the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of NEMSA and Chief Electrical Inspector of the Federation, Olusegun Adesayo, during a courtesy visit by the management of FGN Power Company, led by its CEO, Kenny Anuwe, to the agency’s headquarters in Abuja.

Adesayo stressed that enhanced institutional collaboration is critical to achieving sustainable growth in the power sector, noting that both organisations share a common national objective.
“The importance of working together cannot be overemphasized. FGN Power Company remains a strategic partner, particularly in managing critical power assets and improving generation capacity,” he said.

He commended the company for its contributions to Nigeria’s electricity value chain and reaffirmed NEMSA’s commitment to enforcing technical standards and ensuring the safety of lives and property across the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry.
In his remarks, Anuwe said the visit was aimed at congratulating the new leadership of NEMSA while reinforcing the company’s commitment to deeper cooperation.
He outlined key focus areas of the partnership to include strengthening transmission and distribution capacity, enhancing technical training for operators, mobilising funding for priority projects, and improving stakeholder coordination.
Anuwe also acknowledged NEMSA’s role in supporting its operations, particularly in ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

He added that FGN Power Company was established by the Federal Government to drive the Presidential Power Initiative, a key programme designed to transform Nigeria’s power infrastructure and improve electricity supply nationwide.
