NDLEA Chairman Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa Leads Advocacy Visit to Ondo Communities for Crop Substitution Initiative

Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd) CON, OFR, alongside senior officials of the Agency, state government representatives, and delegates from the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, engaged with cannabis farmers and community leaders in Ifon and Eleyewo communities in Ondo State on Wednesday, 28th January 2026.

The visit was part of the official launch of the Alternative Development Pilot project aimed at promoting crop substitution.

The delegation also paid a courtesy visit to His Royal Majesty, Oba Adesina Agunbiade, the Meselade Otutubiosin I, Olu of Eleyewo, to discuss the project’s objectives and gather support from local leaders.
This initiative is set to transition cannabis farmers toward sustainable agricultural practices and reduce the illegal cultivation of narcotic plants in the region.
