The Nigeria Diaspora Investment Summit (NDIS), is just around the corner, and excitement is building up. This year’s theme, “Adapting Stability through Diaspora Investment: Navigating the Path to Prosperity,” highlights the crucial role the Nigerian Diaspora plays in unlocking new opportunities for Nigeria’s development.
In a hybrid press conference held on Thursday, the Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), told Journalists that the 7th edition of NDIS, scheduled for November 5-7, 2024, at the Conference Centre, Presidential Villa, Abuja, promises to be the most impactful yet. With His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as the Special Guest of Honour and Alhaji Aliko Dangote as the Special Guest Speaker, this event is not to be missed.
She disclosed that Over 2,000 virtual and 600 in-person participants have already expressed interest in attending. The summit will feature keynote speakers, discussions, meeting rooms, investment pitches, and exhibition halls, providing a platform for Nigerians in the diaspora to connect with viable investment opportunities in Nigeria.
“The Summit, organized by the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) and the Nigeria Diaspora Summit Initiative (NDSI), had been a game-changer since its launch in 2018 . It provided a vibrant platform for the Nigerian diaspora to contribute to their country’s economic development. By focusing on investments in small businesses, the Summit had created jobs, driven innovation, and diversified Nigeria’s economic base.
“Success stories were plentiful. Kilimo Nishati, a dairy operation, secured a public-private partnership with Ondo State. The Royal School of Education Therapy received a ₦2 million promissory donation and grants for training special education teachers. Quebec Food Processing Industrial Parks Ltd negotiated a ₦462 million equity financing deal. Adubiaro Farms attracted nearly ₦50 million in investments. iSTEMLabs Africa explored a promising partnership with NiDCOM to establish a Software Engineering campus”, Abike said.
