NCoS Exhibits Unwavering Resolve to  Battle Floods in Maiduguri

September 10th, 2024, will be etched in the memories of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) as a day of unrelenting challenge. The Medium Security Custodial Centre in Maiduguri faced an unprecedented crisis as the Alau Dam in Konduga Local Government Area overflowed, causing devastating floods.

As the waters rose, the NCoS sprang into action, prioritizing the safety of inmates and the public. With a steadfast commitment to their duty, the officers and men of the command, with colleagues from other agencies, worked tirelessly to evacuate the inmates to a safer facilitym

Despite initial reports of chaos, the NCoS assured the public that the transfer process was being executed with precision and care. The agency collaborated with sister security agencies and relevant stakeholders to provide support and assistance to those affected by the disaster.

The visit of the Vice President to Maiduguri to assess the situation brought a sense of hope and reassurance. The NCoS appreciated the guidance and support from the Presidency, acknowledging the collective effort to maintain order and public safety.
