NBBTF, Bangladesh High Commission in Nigeria Holds seminar to explore opportunities

The Nigeria-Bangladesh Business and Technology Forum (NBBTF), convened a joint seminar with the Bangladesh High Commission in Nigeria to explore opportunities for deepening bilateral relations between the two nations. The event, held at the High Commission of Bangladesh in Abuja, brought together experts and stakeholders to discuss the potential of the demographic dividend in driving economic growth and innovation.
With over half of the populations in both Nigeria and Bangladesh under 30, the forum highlighted the importance of leveraging youth dynamism and diaspora contributions to catalyze transformative progress. The intersection of trade, technology, and diaspora engagement was identified as a key area for mutual growth and development.
Key recommendations from the seminar included:
– Strengthening Bilateral Trade and Investment: Establishing a Nigeria-Bangladesh Binational Commission and a reciprocal chancery in Dhaka to enhance trade and foster stronger ties.
– Empowering Youth and Diasporas: Investing in youth entrepreneurship and diaspora engagement capacity-building programs to drive innovation and economic transformation.
– Advancing Technology-Driven Development: Increasing collaboration in technology to boost production, enhance exports, and equip youth with critical skills for global competitiveness.
– Fostering Robust Bilateral Cooperation: Advocating for shared governance and mutual respect to strengthen the foundation of the partnership and ensure sustainable progress.
The NBBTF President Architect Bob Achanya also announced plans to launch the 2025 Global Center Seminar, which aims to mirror the Bangladeshi Youth for Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) in Nigeria. This initiative will support the Nigerian government’s efforts to promote youth inclusion in democratic and governance spaces.
