National Assembly Approves N633bn Budget for NCC

The National Assembly has approved a N633.393 billion budget of the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) for the 2022 Fiscal year.
The budget was approved after the Senate and the House of Representatives adopted the reports of their Committees on Telecommunication presented during plenary on Wednesday.
Presenting her report, at the Senate , Chairperson of the Committee, Senators Olufemi Tinubu (APC, Lagos central) said out of the approved sum, N86, 242, 952 was for Recurrent Expenditure and N42,445,864 for special project; N466,868,323 was transfer to Federal Government, and N7,500,000 as transfer to universal service Provision Fund.
She said the Commission’s Revenue of N633.3bn consists of the Annual licensing fee (N1.5bn); Annual operating levy;(124); Spectrum fee charges (450.2bn); Numbering plan (9.5bn); Administrative charges (N4.4bn); Type Approval Fees (902 millik ); Sanction Fees (165m)
She added that others include : Sundry Income -N5m , FG Intervention for Broadband infrastructure-41.6bn and transfer from Reserve- N1bn.
Similarly, Chairman of the House Committee on Telecommunication Akeen Adeniyi Adeyemi (APC, Oyo) said the budget was projected Capital expenditure of NCC for 2022.
