The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has sustained its offensive against terrorist elements in Nigeria’s North-East, executing precision follow-up airstrikes in the Jilli axis of Borno State as part of ongoing military operations.

According to a statement issued on April 12, 2026, the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI carried out the strikes on April 11 during a coordinated air-ground mission with the Nigerian Army. The operation targeted fleeing insurgents and regrouping terrorist cells following an earlier successful engagement that had significantly degraded their positions in the area.

The mission, driven by credible and actionable intelligence, forms part of intensified efforts to track and neutralise elements responsible for recent attacks on security forces within the wider theatre of operations. Military sources noted that the strikes were carefully executed to consolidate earlier gains and deny insurgents the opportunity to reorganise within the difficult terrain of the Jilli axis.

The development underscores the increasing effectiveness of intelligence-led joint operations in curbing terrorist activities, limiting their movement, and safeguarding both military personnel and civilian populations.

By sustaining pressure through immediate mop-up strikes, the NAF continues to reinforce security operations aimed at protecting lives and property, while stabilising vulnerable communities across Borno State and the broader North-East region.

The Air Force reaffirmed its commitment to persistent surveillance, precision targeting, and rapid response missions in support of Nigeria’s counter-terrorism objectives, assuring citizens of the Armed Forces’ determination to restore lasting peace and security.
