A call has gone to Nigerian youths to brace themselves and quickly locate their relevance in our fast changing world. This call was made recently by Mr. Richard Abiodun, Managing Director/CEO of Beta Bridges Ltd, a licensed telematics, vehicle tracking and speed limiter technologies solutions during his installation as the first Patron of the Electrical/Electronics Engineering Department of the Lagos State Polytechnic, Ikorodu, Lagos.
It was an epoch event as the student body, the Electrical/Electronics Students Association (EESA), the teaching and non-teaching staff of the Department gathered to welcome the new students.
At the same event, the Institution’s management at the Department led by the Head of Department (HOD), Engineer Ogundare deemed it fit to inaugurate the first Patron of the Department.
While speaking to the students at the event on a topic, ‘Prepare Yourself, Position Yourself and Project Yourself’, Abiodun said, “our world is fast changing, both for good and the not too good. Your course of study- Electrical/Electronics seems to be one of the best tools of development, if you consider that the first thing God even created while forming this world was light. There is ample opportunity in our nation even with the poor energy and electricity levels, so, with the multidisciplinary nature of electricity & electronics, you are being looked up to, on new advancements of technology to make life more meaningful.”
