Ministry of Foreign Affairs to Host Service-Wide Protocol Training for Protocol, Information and PR Officers

The Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is organizing a 3-Day Service-Wide Training Programme for Protocol, Information and Public Relations Officers in the Civil Service. The training
programme which is scheduled for Wednesday 18th – Friday 20th December, 2024, will be declared open by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, while the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Dunoma Umar Ahmed, PhD, is expected to deliver a welcome address.

The programme is designed to equip officers to engage in protocol related duties with the professional knowledge and skills required to enhance their effectiveness in diverse settings. The training has become imperative to address identified lapses in the performance of protocol, media, security, and other support roles to VIPs across
the service.

The theme of the training programme is “Professionalism in Protocol: Elevating Standard for Effective Service Delivery,”
designed with the following objectives:
i. Equip Officers with relevant knowledge, skills, and attitude in
protocol practice.
ii. Foster understanding of international protocol, etiquette, and
effective cross-cultural communication; and
iii. Appraise and apply protocol best practices and standards and
strengthen collaboration in diverse settings.

Tuesday, 17 December, 2024, disclosed that the workshop is scheduled to be held as follows:

Date: Wednesday 18th – Friday 20th December 2024
Time: 9:00 AM Daily
Venue: Rotunda, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
