LATIFAT PICKS NIGERIA’S FIRST MEDAL IN TOKYO ……. Dedicates Gold medal her Coach .

TIJANI Latifat becomes the first athlete to pick Nigeria’s medal in Tokyo2020, she put up a scintillating performance after her first lift of 105kg was disallowed.
The Ogun state born athlete, came back strong with burning enthusiasm to write her name in gold with her second attempt of 105kg and her third attempt was 107kg but she did that in a style with 117kg in her fourth attempt getting close to world record of 118kg to lift the first medal for team Nigeria in Tokyo.
The winner of Nigeria’s first gold medal of the ongoing Paralympic games in Tokyo, Japan was quite emotional while speaking to pressmen immediately after her podium finish.
Tijani Latifat said, “I’m so happy and glad for what I just achieved. I promised to bring home the gold and I thank God for helping me bring this gold home this year.
“I am dedicating this Gold medal to my humble and hardworking coach who is always pushing and motivating me. He keeps me on my toes and makes me stay focused.”
With this gold medal, this is Nigeria’s 71st medal in Paralympics.
