Keyamo visits AAAU, commends Registrar and his team

Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo has commended the current management of the African Aviation and Aerospace University (AAAU), for laudable strides achieved forth in less than one year.

The elated Minister who stated this during his inspection of facilities at the temporary campus of African Aviation and Aerospace University at Bill Clinton Drive along Abuja Airport On Wednesday, disclosed that the university had attracted collaborations and affiliations with internationally renowned organizations and schools such as the Qatar Government, Swinburne University Australia, the University of Coventry UK, the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia, and most recently, Emirates Aviation University, Dubai.

He further revealed that preparation to commence the development of the permanent site for the university was in top gear, as the school was currently situated on a temporary campus owned by the Nigeria Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB), adding that getting international specification is also underway.

The Minister called on the National Assembly to give legislative backing to the African Aviation and Aerospace University (AAAU) for proper funding.

The University Registrar, Mustapha Sheik, explained that the university offers two courses for undergraduates for now and intends to increase the number of courses in next year’s academic session.

“The academic journey has already commenced with the admission of 28 undergraduate pioneer students, with 14 students each in both aviation business and meteorology.

The African Aviation and Aerospace University (AAAU), is the first Pan African University of Aviation, Aerospace and Environmental Science established to fill the gap in research and development as well as man-power shortages in Africa’s Aviation industry.
