Katsina State Govt holds 3 Day Retreat on Ease of Doing Business

A three day Retreat has been organized for Members of Katsina State Executive council ,heads of various MDAs on Ease of doing Business.

The workshop held at Swiss Pearl Continental Hotel Kano, was Organized by Katsina state Government in collaboration with Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council.
Declaring the Workshop open, the Deputy Governor Qs Mannir Yakubu said doing business in katsina state remains relatively easy when compared to many other states.

According to him this was as a result of the commitment made by the council towards building the capacity of key officers so they can carry out their roles effectively in the reform agenda.
Qs Mannir Yakubu maintained that the Masari led administration had put in place numerous reform measures to ease business in katsina state.
He further said Part of the reform measures are the establishment of the Katsina state Investment Promotion Agency, State Department of Economic Empowerment and Social Intervention, as well as the Department of Livestock and Grazing Reserves all to support business activities in the State.

The Deputy Governor said that the Workshop was designed to be interactive and brainstorming to keep participants abreast with the expectations from the implementation of the reform initiatives.

The Commissioner for the commerce Ministry of the state Mukhtar Abdulkadir who spoke through President Katsina Chamber of Commerce Engr. Abba Yusuf appreciated the State Government for initiating the retreat. He added that the intervention of the federal government has assisted greatly towards implementation and sustainance of business activities in the state and the country at large.

The Director General, Katsina Investment Promotion Agency Alhaji Ibrahim Tukur Jikamshi highlighted some of the needed requirements from the Participants in his presentation titled Galvanizing Stakeholders for the implementation of reform.

He urged participant’s of the retreat to apply what would be learned to the needed reforms to achieve the desired objectives.

During the occasion, Papers were presented by Mr. Ayokunnu Ojeniyi and Jennifer Anya Lekwa from Ease of doing business and Office of the Vice President respectively.
