Journalist contests for CRS Gubernatorial seat

A veteran sports journalist is contesting for the office of the Executive Governor of Cross River State.
Efa Nyong, who became renowned for his oratorial skills is the Flagbearer for the African Democratic Congress(ADC).
Nyong said he is in the race to rescue the State from the current sorry condition of once a vibrant and the cleanest state in the country, describing the present position of the state as pitiable even as he promise to fix the state if given the mandate by Cross Riverians
He said if voted into power in 2023, his administration will be anchored on three “R’s”- Reconstruction, Reconciliation and Restoration, maintaining that his administration shall seek to reconcile the various ethnic groups and nationalities.
The journalist cum politician while unfolding some of his plans for the State stressed that he would solve the problems of multiple tax regime in the state with firm policies that are sustainable and growth oriented, adding that programmes of previous administrations would be visited
Mr Nyong also added that he would restructure the Local Government system in the State by granting fiscal autonomy, while seeking to reform the Civil Service in the state for optimum results.
He also assured that the dwindling education standard in the state would be given priority as the bedrock of any meaningful development in any Society, while promising to tackle the issue of insecurity in the state vigorously.
He promised that tourism that brought the state to national recognition would be reactivated again as this would create more job opportunities, while assuring that, he would create not less than a thousand job in his first six months in office if given the mandate.
