IRREGULAR DECLARATION: INEC bars Controversial Adamawa REC from the State Commission’s office

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Nigeria, has withdrawn its delegated powers from Barr. Hudu Yunusa Ari as the Resident Electoral Commissioner for the State.
INEC has consequently directed Barr Yunusa Ari to stay away from the Commission’s office in Adamawa State forthwith.
According to a statement made signed by the National Commissioner and Chairman, THE Information and Voter Education Committee, Barr Festus Okoye, it is as result of the purported declaration of the result for the Adamawa State Governorship election on Sunday 16th April 2023 by the suspended REC.
- “Meanwhile, the Administrative Secretary has been directed to take over the affairs of the State office until further notice.” Okoye said.
