INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY: AFRIHEALTH, Nigeria’s Min of Women Affairs to hold Conference

Afrihealth Optonet Association [CSOs Network] – with consultative status at UN ECOSOC in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs, Nigeria invites stakeholders in women’s development issues, to an international conference to mark the 2021 International Women’s Day, on March 4, 2021, starting at 10:00 AM West Central Africa (9.00 am GMT).

The CEO and Global Coordinator, Afrihealth Optonet Association, Dr. Uzodinma Adirieje in a release to journalists today in Abuja disclosed that the theme of the event is “Harnessing and Promoting Women’s Leadership to Overcome the COVID-19 Pandemic and Achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030”.

Speaking further, Dr. Uzodinma stated that the keynote address will be delivered by Her Excellency, Dame Pauline Tallen, OFR, KSSG; Honourable Minister of Women Affairs, Nigeria
“The Conference shall also receive interventions from notable panelists, activists, participants and stakeholders in Women’s Development issues, in a global audience”.

Continuing, he gave a brief insight on Afrihealth Optonet Association, ” the CSO is a civil society network and think-tank of about 600 (Six Hundred) organizations across Africa, the Caribbean and global South for Systems Strengthening in Health; Energy, Climate Change and Environment; Nutrition and Food Security; and Gender, Good Governance, Democracy, Human Security, Rights, and Dignity; Human Capital Development; promotion of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). AFRIHEALTH is committed to the propagation of ‘Health’ as a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being through Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and health systems strengthening, especially in the areas of the SDGs, diseases prevention, provision of care, and impact mitigations using partnerships, advocacy, research/evidence-generation, capacity development, outreaches, and monitoring and evaluation as strategies; focusing on rural and poor urban communities, vulnerable and disadvantaged populations; and exploring the interlinkages between Health, Energy and Environment, Nutrition and Food Security, and Gender, Good Governance and Human Rights”.
