INEC Reiterates Commitment to Service Excellence as Nigeria Celebrates 2025 Customer Service Week

The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, has reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to empathy, responsiveness, accountability, and excellence in public service delivery. Speaking at the official opening of the 2025 Customer Service Week in Abuja, Yakubu emphasized the importance of continuous innovation, stakeholder trust, and service excellence in electoral service delivery.
He reiterates that the Commission is dedicated to serving the public interest, as enshrined in the laws of Nigeria, particularly the Freedom of Information Act.
He said INEC will continue to introduce innovations and review its processes and procedures to improve citizens’ experience in public service.
He urged the Commission’s staff to recommit themselves to the core values of empathy, responsiveness, accountability, and excellence.
The INEC Chairman and several officials were honored with awards for their exceptional performance and dedication to advancing INEC’s mission of transparency and service excellence.
The Acting National Coordinator and Chief Executive Officer of SERVICOM, Mr. Anthony Oshin, lauded INEC’s commitment to institutional reform and service delivery, citing its data-driven processes, technology adoption, and real-time accountability dashboards as examples of best practices in the public sector.
